The Advanced Care You Need, With the Compassion You Deserve!Kimberly Cockerham MD, FACS is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in plastics, orbital disease and neuro-ophthalmology. Her medical neuro-ophthalmology practice is closed to new patients at this time. Dr. Cockerham, recipient of the AAO Senior Achievement Award, has two decades of experience caring for patients of all ages with complex needs. She has been the Chief of Oculoplastics and Orbital Disease at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, UCSF and Stanford University. She has published nearly 100 peer reviewed articles, papers and chapters and co-authored the book Diagnosis and Management of Orbital Disease. She is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of ophthalmology at Stanford University and runs the Orbit and Neuro-Ophthalmology Service at the VA Palo Alto Health System. Dr. Cockerham’s research interests include thyroid eye disease, post-traumatic fibrosis and wound healing. She is a co-investigator in a DOD funded study aimed at creating a neuro-protective and anti-fibrotic eluting stent. Her private practice is located in Silicon Valley where she consults for companies interested in scar revision, wound healing and fibrosis. She is Section Editor for Ophthalmology Surgery and EyeNet, health advisor and writer for Men’s Health and serves as a reviewer for multi-disciplinary journals in print and online. Dr. Cockerham’s clinical focus is on eyelid problems including aging changes, cancer and inflammation. thyroid eye disease and other orbital problems, tearing due to obstruction and double vision or drifting eyes that require surgery.
