Conditions Related to Sinus Disease

The paranasal sinuses are air-filled cavities that communicate with the nasal cavity that serve to humidify and warm inhaled air, decrease the weight of the skull, and act as a cushion to impacts to the face.

Symptoms

Common symptoms of sinus disease include pressure, headache, and facial pain. Tumors and inflammation can extend from the nose or paranasal sinuses to involve the orbit (area around the eye). Eyeball displacement can occur.
