Eyelid Reconstruction - Post Traumatic or Post SurgicalIn patients where the eyelids are injured, either by an accident or after removal of skin cancer, the eyelid can be repaired to allow full closure of the lid to protect the eye and to improve appearance. Dr. Cockerham employs a variety of different techniques to achieve the most functional and aesthetically pleasing result. If needed, a skin graft may be taken from an area that matches the eyelid skin to replace missing skin. The supporting plate of the eyelid (tarsus) can be reconstructed by borrowing from the opposite lid or the other eyelid. Return to Conditions & Treatments Page
